The CEEs: A Business That’s More Than Two Sisters Working Together

“We want to be that go-to group that when someone is sitting down and they’re like ‘where do I go from here’ or ‘what do I do next’ they would come to us” -Natalie Cee

“Where there’s not much to look up to and people around you don’t believe you’ll be much of anything in life, we want to be that inspiration for them. We want them to know that there is more out there and you can be anything as long as you put your mind to it and push through” – Golden Cee

Fashion styling is an art form that requires creativity, passion, and core design skills. The stylist works tirelessly day in and day out and each project they create is an expression of their mind. There are two sisters leaving their mark in styling and the sky is the limit for the talented duo. Natalie Cee and Golden Cee are the brains behind the up and coming styling business, The CEEs. The duo has been making waves on social media and the brand is buzzing.

“The CEEs is a special bond between sisters that grew into a business,” says Natalie Cee. “Over time we got more and more into fashion and styling and we decided to do something with it,” added Golden Cee. For Natalie, fashion has always been apart of her life since she was little and she’s knowledgeable in designing clothes. Golden, on the other hand, began her interest in styling when she discovered modeling as a teenager. The sisters are no strangers to the various forms of art that inspire style and design. Some of their inspirations range from Picasso all the way to artist Naturel. Anything from photography to music has inspired the sisters and many of their projects.

When it comes to creating a project the sisters are in constant contact with each other. Thanks to their busy lives, texting has been a staple between them. “Basically we’ve learned to feed off of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. We just get things done and text each other a lot,” says Natalie. Golden adds “We both work full-time jobs outside of The CEEs so we communicate a lot of ideas through texting. Imagine how stressful that can be. But like my sister said, we get it done.”

Of course, we all know the rivalry that arises between a pair of siblings but for The CEEs, a natural competition doesn’t exist between the two. “Everything we do is still under our brand which is The CEEs. So whether you see me do a project by myself or vice versa, it’s still about us,” Golden mentions. “As far as conflict goes, we’re real blood sisters so our conflicts don’t last long. We’re back to normal 2 seconds later,” she adds.

A lot of The CEEs projects have people talking and one of those projects stands out the most to the sisters. “One of our top styling projects was the Brea Simone shoot ‘MODERN DAY FANTA$Y’ because it was the most challenging,” Natalie reveals to Chasing The Bag.”Brea’s style is very streetwear and comfortable. So for us to take her out of her element made her uncomfortable and weary and that made the shoot a little challenging,” Golden says.

The sisters agree that although it was challenging the shoot was something they both enjoyed doing. “How do you make a tomboy wear all pink and a tutu,” says Golden. “We had a vision and we went for it and the outcome was great,” Natalie adds.

If you’re looking for The CEEs to work on a project it’s not difficult to get a hold of them. Their Instagram page is where you can find most of their work as well as their contact information. “Follow us on Instagram. Our e-mail is there or you can hit our DM’s,” says Golden. “Just reach out to us. We’re not stuck up, we give everyone a chance. Everyone gets a response,” Natalie says.

With their growing buzz, more and more people are knowing who The CEEs are. Getting their name to stick with people and having it being used regularly is the sisters biggest accomplishment. “Two years later everybody finally knows who we are. Even if they deny it, they’ve seen or heard about us somewhere,” says Natalie. With the newfound recognition, The CEEs are poised to become, as they say, the “fairy godmothers” of what they do. “We do a lot. We’re not just fashion stylists, we want to be known as business women. Girl bosses,” Golden tells Chasing The Bag.

The CEEs rarely talk about what they have in store for the future but expect to hear more about them as several people have contacted the duo on several projects. “We have a lot we’re doing outside of fashion styling. With styling a lot of people have contacted us to creative direct and style, so you’ll see more of us in that field. But we’re looking forward to styling our first male for a photo shoot and we’re super excited about that,” says Golden.

In a field that features many artists and stylists, The CEEs feel that they’re in their own lane. There’s really no classifying The CEEs to a specific field. As stated earlier the sisters do a lot with their business. Natalie adds, “We touch a lot of different avenues and we want to get into so much more.”

“We want to be that go-to group that when someone is sitting down and they’re like ‘where do I go from here’ or ‘what do I do next’ they would come and sit in our office and would appreciate the insight that we give them,” says Natalie. The duo is aiming to be an inspiration to others especially those that come from places like their hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut. “Where there’s not much to look up to and people around you don’t believe you’ll be much of anything in life, we want to be that inspiration for them,” says Golden. “We want them to know that there is more out there and you can be anything as long as you put your mind to it and push through.”
