In 2018 one of the artists I put on my radar was Boogie, a rising artist out of Compton, California who I feel is next up. Not A Boogie, just Boogie. His voice, sound, and flow is something that Hip-Hop has been missing. Today, he released a video for his latest single “Single Ride”.
This song is coming off his upcoming debut album “Everything’s For Sale”, set to drop January 25th. As you can probably already assume, I’m ecstatic for its release. I had his last project “Thirst 48 Part II” on repeat this year awaiting his next release.
Single Ride premiered in dramatic fashion with a countdown to the last second. The wait was well worth it. The video was shot then reversed. Very trippy. There are many elements of storytelling here. Most notably, the end where he put on a ski mask then jumps into a suspect car that drives away. Backward of course.
As we wait for the album we also are left with the cliffhanger for the next music video. I look forward to the artistry that is boiling for this upcoming project.
